Fine Dining in a Classic American Home
Just  9 miles west of Manitowoc on Hwy 151, Sam's Fine Food &
Spirits was built in 1907 as a tavern and home to the family of William
F. Christel, one of the Valders, Wisconsin founders.  Reopened in
June of 1991 by Sandy (Sam) and Bernie Weidling,  it is beautifully
restored to its original splendor.  The downstairs was converted into
two dining areas, separated by intricately scrolled fretwork and
carved Doric columns. Remodeling for the cocktail area  retained the
original bar and back bar as well as the copper ceiling and
hexagonal ceramic tile floor.  The Turn-of-the-Century Banquet
Room seats up to 60 and it is available for private parties and
meetings.
